Welcome to
Holgate Methodist Church
Our church has a number of different worship styles available, from the more traditional Sunday morning worship, to café style services where we have discussions, to Messy Church where families can engage in a more craft & activity based worship. During the week the church is in frequent use by the Scouts, Guides and Preschool, as well as hosting offices for York Schools & Youth Trust (YoYo). We also offer monthly community events, ranging from BBQs to Games Afternoons, from Fayres to Cinema Nights; if they’re something you’d like to see, we’re always open to suggestions too!

We typically run a community event under our Events@Holgate brand on the 1st Saturday of the month, in a 4-6pm slot, however this can vary so please do double check. These are normally family-friendly events, however occassionally they are designed for teenagers upwards.
We also have a Messy Church which usually runs monthly on the 3rd Saturday of the month during term-time.

Prayer of the Day
Lord, send us out. Send us out from our buildings, full of history and comfort and meaning, and lead us into your world as your disciples where the story is still being written. Send us out with our hearts full of love and concern and fear and hope, and lead us into your heart for this blessed and beautiful world where the story is still being written. Continue to bless places for lonely people to gather; soup lunches and warm spaces; moves and renovations; missions and prayer gatherings; and all the ways we seek to move from where we are to where you want us to be. Lord, send us out. And remind us – remind me – that the story is still being written. Amen.

Traditional Sunday Service
Join us at 10:30am most Sundays for our more traditional Sunday morning service.
Messy Church
Our thriving craft-based worship, held monthly during term time, usually on the 3rd Saturday, 4pm – 6pm. More information on the dedicated Messy Church page.
Café Style Service
Our café services offer a more small-group discussion based approach to Sunday morning worship, at 10:30am, and usually take place on the 3rd Sunday of the month!
